Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

This policy explains what DietCoach collects, why, and what you can do about it. DietCoach ("the app") is published by CloudArbitration LTDA ("we", "us"), the same company behind Kaha Trainer. You can reach us at info@kahatrainer.com.

1. The short version

We store the nutrition data you create — your food log, foods, recipes, goals, programs, check-ins and weigh-ins — so it follows you to a new phone. Photos and text you send to the AI features go to Anthropic (Claude) for analysis and are not stored by us. Usage statistics sit under a random identifier that is not connected to your account. The free version shows ads, which may use an advertising identifier only if you allow it. Data read from Apple Health stays on your device and is never used for advertising. We do not sell your personal data.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account information — shared with Kaha Trainer

To create an account we collect your email address and a display name. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive whatever Apple sends us — which may be a private relay address instead of your real email. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

DietCoach and Kaha Trainer use the same account. Signing in to either app gives access to the same profile, body weight and body measurements, and deleting the account in either app deletes it in both.

2.2 Body and nutrition data

Everything you create in the app, which is the reason it exists:

2.3 Apple Health data

The Apple Health integration is optional and off until you authorize it. If you do, DietCoach reads your step count to show it in Progress. Steps are used on your device only: they are not sent to our servers. DietCoach does not write anything to Apple Health.

Data obtained from Apple Health is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties.

2.4 AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence: analyzing a meal from photos or a description, reading a nutrition label, and importing a recipe from photos, text or a link. When you use one of them:

The AI suggests ingredients and amounts; nutrition values always come from the food database, and you review everything before it is logged.

2.5 Barcode lookups

When you scan a barcode that is not already in our database, the app looks the number up in Open Food Facts, a public food database. Only the barcode number is sent — along with the technical data any internet request carries, such as your IP address.

2.6 Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. To unlock the plan you paid for, we store the subscription's product, status, renewal and expiry dates and Apple's transaction identifiers, linked to your account.

2.7 Usage analytics

To understand which screens deserve to exist, the app records product events: which screen was opened, whether a meal was logged, whether an ad was shown or skipped and why. Each event carries a random identifier generated on your device at install, a session number, the event name, the app version, the platform and the time.

That identifier is not linked to your account, your email or any measurement you recorded. It is recreated if you delete and reinstall the app.

2.8 Advertising

The free version of DietCoach is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. Depending on your choices and region, AdMob may process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), general device and network information, and ad interaction data.

On iOS, the advertising identifier is only available if you allow tracking when the system asks. If you decline, the app works exactly the same and you still see ads — just less relevant ones. Subscribers to any plan see no ads. Google's handling of this data follows its own policies; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

2.9 Notifications

Meal and weigh-in reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Their times stay on the device, and no notification content passes through us.

2.10 What we do not collect

Nutrition and body data can be sensitive. We use them only to provide the app's features to you, never for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the providers that make the app work:

5. International transfers

Our providers operate infrastructure that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent mechanism offered by the provider.

6. How long we keep it

Account, body and nutrition data are kept while your account exists. AI photos and text are not stored after the analysis. Anonymous usage events are retained in aggregate; because they are not linked to your identity, they cannot be isolated and removed per person.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, write to info@kahatrainer.com from the address associated with your account. We answer within 30 days.

Deleting your account. In the app, go to Profile → Delete Account. The account and all its data are erased immediately and permanently — in DietCoach and in Kaha Trainer, since they share the account.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Practical controls — AI permission, tracking, Health access, notifications — are listed on Your Privacy Choices.

8. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Access to the database is restricted by row-level security rules so that an account can only read its own records, and the AI provider's key lives only on our server, never in the app.

9. Children

DietCoach is not directed at children under 13 (or under the minimum age set by your country's law, where it is higher). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Health disclaimer

DietCoach provides educational information based on what you enter. It is not medical advice. Talk to a health professional before big changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or a history of eating disorders.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app before they take effect.
